Helping Our Neighbors Rebuild: What We Do
After the fires, it’s impossible not to feel heartbroken about the losses—homes, memories, and pieces of life that can never be fully replaced. We are deeply sorry for what so many of our neighbors have endured.
For many, this may also be the first time working with an architect. Concepts like zoning, building codes, or permits can feel overwhelming—especially when all you want is a clear path forward.
We’re here to help.
We’re currently volunteering with the American Institute of Architects, Pasadena & Foothill Chapter (AIA-PF), supporting community members as they connect with professionals and resources. Through this effort, we aim to:
Answer basic building and zoning questions
Explain how architects fit into the rebuilding process
Help people understand their options and rights as they plan their next steps
We’re also preparing handout sheets that summarize key zoning information and answer common questions. These tools are designed to give clarity—whether you choose to rebuild, sell, or simply take time to decide what comes next.
From past disaster recoveries, we know that more than 70% of homeowners choose to rebuild. Whether a community regains its strength—or loses part of its character—depends on the choices made today, one home at a time.
As a licensed architect and local resident, I hope to contribute to rebuilding a community that is thoughtful, resilient, and lasting. That means:
Respecting the character and spirit of our neighborhoods
Carefully bringing in improvements without forcing gentrification
Supporting sustainable, gentle growth near commercial centers to encourage a walkable, connected community
Bringing responsible, high-quality resources to rebuilding—prioritizing safety, durability, and long-term value
At a personal level, I also hope to help underinsured homeowners find a clear, budget-conscious path to rebuilding—while still preserving the care, quality, and meaning they deserve.
After everything you’ve been through, you deserve a home built with care, strength, and a sense of belonging.
